POTS & VESSELS
This year's annual pottery show is special in that it will be the last one (for a while) featuring Sequoia Miller and the first one to include vessels of a different kind. Sequoia Miller is taking a hiatus from the studio to explore, as a graduate student, the theoretical and philosophical aspects of Decorative Arts, Design History and Material Culture. A scholar at heart, the making alone is no longer enough for Sequoia. We await his return to the studio as an even more evolved and more deeply thoughtful maker. Ron King's vessels are made from gourds stitched with beads, feathers and other embellishments. These elegant forms are the work of his hand from planting the seed to the final decoration. Paul Heroux will exhibit 15 extraordinary pieces including his signature folded vases. together with new and interesting forms. Warren MacKenzie completes the show with his time honored, functional pots that make every meal a celebration.
